What is CMV?
CMV is a satirical editorial project that applies the visual language of FIFA Ultimate Team player cards to the corporate world. It is entertainment and social commentary, not a financial instrument, HR tool, or factual report.
Like Transfermarkt's player valuations, Celebrity Net Worth's estimates, or Glassdoor's CEO approval ratings, all scores on this site are editorial opinions generated by a weighted scoring model. They do not represent actual transaction prices, appraisals, or valuations in any financial or legal sense.
Editorial Opinion, Not Fact
All scores, rankings, estimated values, and tier designations displayed on this site constitute editorial opinion and protected commentary. No number displayed on this site should be interpreted as a statement of objective fact.
The term “Corporate Market Value” is a metaphorical concept used for entertainment. “Est. Market Value” figures are the output of our editorial scoring model and do not represent what any person would actually sell for, earn, or be worth in any real transaction.
Named Individual Profiles
Profiles of named public figures are editorial analyses based entirely on publicly available information, including:
- SEC filings (DEF 14A proxy statements)
- Public annual reports and earnings calls
- Bloomberg and WSJ executive compensation reporting
- Publicly reported career histories and biographies
These profiles are comparable to editorial content published by Forbes, Bloomberg, Comparably, and Glassdoor. Scores assigned to named individuals reflect the editorial opinion of our scoring model, not objective fact. Editorial commentary on public figures and their professional conduct is protected under Article 5 of the German Basic Law (Grundgesetz) and Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Privacy Policy
This site is operated from Germany and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Email: christian.wilsch@gmail.com
No data protection officer has been appointed as appointment is not required under §38 BDSG.
2. Hosting
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA). When you visit this site, Vercel processes your IP address and technical connection data to deliver the page. This is necessary for the operation of the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
3. Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights
We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how visitors use the site and to monitor performance. These tools collect anonymized, aggregated data (page views, load times, device type). No cookies are set and no personally identifiable information is collected. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in improving the website).
4. Calculator
When you use the “Calculate Your Score” tool, the data you enter (name, age, salary, career details, etc.) is sent to our API for processing. What happens next depends on which options you choose:
(a) Score only — no save. If you do not click “Save to Leaderboard” and do not opt in to acqui-hire offers, your data is processed transiently to generate your score and is not stored anywhere. Nothing persists beyond the duration of the request.
(b) Save to Leaderboard. If you click “Save to Leaderboard,” the following data is permanently stored in our Supabase PostgreSQL database (see Section 4a):
- Your full calculator input (age, gender, country, salary, bonus, career details, scarcity indicators, skills, experience, education, network, geography, languages, physical attributes including appearance rating, height, BMI, fitness level, smoker status, mental health, criminal record, and entrepreneur info) — with your name replaced by “Anonymous”
- The full CMV result (name, scores, breakdown, recommendations, projected value curve)
- A system-generated pseudonym (deterministically derived from a UUID; it cannot be traced back to your identity)
- A timestamp
Your entry is publicly visible on the leaderboard under your pseudonym. Your email address and acqui-hire status are never returned publicly.
(c) Open to acqui-hire offers. If you check “Open to acqui-hire offers” and provide a valid email address, your data (the same items listed above) is automatically saved to our database when your result is generated — even without clicking “Save to Leaderboard.” Your email is stored alongside the entry. These acqui-hire entries are not shown on the public leaderboard and your email is never displayed publicly.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent — you explicitly click “Save to Leaderboard” or opt in to acqui-hire offers).
Providing your data is entirely voluntary. If you choose not to, you simply will not receive a CMV score. There is no statutory or contractual obligation to provide any personal data.
4a. Database & Data Processor (Supabase)
Leaderboard entries and marketplace profiles are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase Inc. (San Francisco, CA, USA). Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf pursuant to Article 28 GDPR.
Data transferred to Supabase may be processed in the United States. Supabase relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for lawful transfer. Row-level security (RLS) policies restrict access: public read access is limited to active, anonymized records; write access is controlled via server-side API routes.
4b. Marketplace
The marketplace allows anonymous salary submissions. When you submit your salary data, the following information is stored in our Supabase database:
- Gross hourly pay (in local currency and converted to USD)
- Pay floor (historical minimum recorded for this profile)
- Role category, title level, years of experience
- Country, industry, remote capability
- Computed market gap percentage and market position
- A system-generated pseudonym (deterministically derived from a UUID; it cannot be traced back to your identity)
- An edit token (for future edits)
- Timestamps (created / updated)
No names or email addresses are collected or stored for marketplace submissions. The pseudonym is auto-generated and has no connection to your real identity.
Edit tokens. When you submit a marketplace profile, a unique edit token is stored in your browser's localStorage (key: cmv_mp_{id}). This token allows you to edit your submission in the future. The token never leaves your device unless you initiate an edit request.
Public access. Active marketplace profiles are publicly readable in anonymized form. Materialized views compute percentile statistics (P25, median, P75, P90) by role, level, and country. Individual pay figures are visible only in the context of the anonymized profile (no name attached).
Soft deletion. Profiles can be deactivated (soft-deleted). Deactivated profiles are excluded from all public queries and aggregate statistics.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent — you actively submit the form) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing anonymized market data).
4c. Browser Storage (localStorage)
This site uses your browser's localStorage (not cookies) for the following purposes:
cmv_mp_{id}andcmv_mp_latest— marketplace edit tokens, stored only after you submit to the marketplacecmv_email_unlockedandcmv_email— stores your email and unlock state if you voluntarily provide your email to unlock the full score breakdown. This data remains on your device only.
localStorage data is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly initiate an action that requires it (e.g., editing a marketplace submission). You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) and §25(2) TDDDG (technically necessary for the requested functionality).
4d. Health-Related Data (Article 9 GDPR)
The calculator collects health-related inputs (BMI, fitness level, smoker status, mental health / energy level). Under Article 9(1) GDPR, these constitute special category data.
Legal basis: Article 9(2)(a) GDPR — explicit consent. You actively enter this data into the calculator and submit it. If you do not save to the leaderboard or opt in to acqui-hire offers, this data is processed transiently and not stored. If you do save, these fields (except criminal record, which is never persisted) are stored as described in Section 4(b) and 4(c) above.
5. External Resources
This site loads external resources which may result in your IP address being transmitted to third-party servers:
- Flagcdn (flagcdn.com) — for country flag images
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in consistent visual presentation).
6. Cookies
This site does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. Only technically necessary cookies may be set by the hosting provider (Vercel) for load balancing and security.
7. Named Individual Profiles (Legal Basis)
Personal data of named public figures (name, age, company, role, publicly filed compensation) is processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) for the purpose of editorial commentary on public figures, and under the journalistic and editorial exemption of Article 85 GDPR as implemented by German state press laws. Only publicly available data is used. Appearance, fitness, and height scores for named individuals are editorial opinions of our scoring model, not biometric data, health data, or special category data under Article 9 GDPR.
7a. Automated Decision-Making & Profiling
The CMV calculator uses an automated scoring model that evaluates your inputs across 14 weighted dimensions to produce a score. This constitutes profiling within the meaning of Article 4(4) GDPR. No legally or similarly significant decisions are made solely on the basis of this automated processing. The resulting score is editorial commentary and entertainment — it has no legal, financial, or employment consequences. You may object to profiling at any time under Article 21 GDPR by contacting christian.wilsch@gmail.com.
8. Your Rights Under the GDPR
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data (Article 15)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16)
- Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) (Article 17)
- Restriction of processing (Article 18)
- Data portability (Article 20)
- Object to processing (Article 21)
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for Schleswig-Holstein: Independent Centre for Data Protection Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel)
You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, contact christian.wilsch@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Data Retention & Transfers
Named individual profiles are embedded statically in the site's source code and are not stored in external databases.
Calculator submissions (without leaderboard save) are processed transiently in server memory and not persisted.
Leaderboard entries are retained indefinitely under system-generated pseudonyms (with personal names sanitized to “Anonymous”). Deletion is available on request by contacting christian.wilsch@gmail.com.
Marketplace profiles are retained until deactivated by the user (via their edit token) or upon a deletion request. Deactivated profiles are excluded from public queries but may be retained in database backups for a limited period.
Optional emails collected via the “open to acqui-hire offers” feature are retained until the associated leaderboard entry is deleted or the user requests removal.
International transfers. Hosting on Vercel and database hosting on Supabase may involve data transfer to the United States. Vercel is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Supabase relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). Named individual profiles remain published as editorial content; removal is available on request as described in the Corrections & Removal section.
Methodology & Scoring
CMV scores are generated by a weighted model across 14 dimensions. We disclose the full methodology for transparency:
| Dimension | Weight |
|---|---|
| Scarcity | 20% |
| Earning Power | 18% |
| Age Factor | 12% |
| Skills | 12% |
| Experience | 8% |
| Network | 7% |
| Education | 6% |
| Geography | 4% |
| Appearance | 3% |
| Languages | 3% |
| Fitness | 2.5% |
| Mental Health | 2% |
| Height | 1.5% |
| Background | 1% |
Individual dimension scores are combined using these weights to produce an overall CMV score (0–100). Estimated market values are then derived from the score using a tiered editorial model. The exact formulas, thresholds, and multipliers are editorial choices and are subject to change.
Appearance, Height & Fitness
CMV includes appearance, height, and fitness as scoring dimensions. This is intentional social commentary. A substantial body of academic research documents that physical attributes measurably influence compensation and career outcomes in the corporate labor market:
- Hamermesh, D. (2011). Beauty Pays: Why Attractive People Are More Successful
- Judge, T. & Cable, D. (2004). “The Effect of Physical Height on Workplace Success and Income”
- Persico, N., Postlewaite, A. & Silverman, D. (2004). “The Effect of Adolescent Experience on Labor Market Outcomes”
By including these dimensions, CMV highlights the uncomfortable reality that the corporate world already prices these attributes — we simply make the implicit explicit. For named individuals, these scores are editorial estimates and should not be interpreted as measurements, medical assessments, or personal judgments.
Not For Employment Decisions
This tool must not be used for hiring, compensation, promotion, termination, or any employment-related decisions. Use for such purposes may violate applicable employment discrimination laws including the German General Equal Treatment Act (AGG), the EU Equal Treatment Directive (2006/54/EC), and the EU Employment Equality Directive (2000/78/EC). CMV is entertainment and editorial commentary only.
Corrections & Removal Requests
If you are a named individual profiled on this site and believe any factual input (compensation, age, career history) is inaccurate, please contact christian.wilsch@gmail.com. We will review and correct verified factual errors.
If you wish to request removal of your profile, you may also exercise your rights under GDPR Articles 17 and 21 by contacting the same address. We will consider all requests in good faith, while noting that editorial commentary on public figures is protected under Article 5 of the German Basic Law and the journalistic exemption of Article 85 GDPR.
No Warranty & Limitation of Liability
This site is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The operators of this site shall not be liable for any damages arising from use of or reliance on any content displayed here. Scores and estimated values may change without notice as the editorial model is updated.
Governing Law
This site is operated from Kiel, Germany and is governed by German law and applicable EU regulations. The competent supervisory authority for data protection matters is the Independent Centre for Data Protection Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel.
